L’Hotel del Libero Scambio

Marcelle, married to an architect who neglects her, is courted by an entrepreneur, her husband’s partner, married to the shrew Angélique. The architect has to do an appraisal in a hotel that is said to be inhabited by spirits. The entrepreneur decides to take advantage of the architect’s absence and book a room at the Hotel del Libero Scambio to meet Marcelle, but having drunk and smoked too much, he falls ill and leaves. On his return, he and Marcelle are surprised by the vice squad commissioner who leads them to prison and, in a vain attempt to save themselves, the two provide him with false information (those of their legitimate spouses). With a final idea by the author, the characters manage to get out of the situation and reform their respective couples.
