Hortense ha detto: “Me ne frego!”

A dentist’s office. His wife wants the maid Hortense to be fired because after she heard the cat peed in the lady’s muff, she replied, “I don’t give a damn!”. The dentist does not want to be so intransigent, and in between visits, he also asks Hortense for advice on how to deal with his wife and gives her a raise. This attitude arouses the jealousy of his wife, who accuses him of preferring the maid to her, and also that of Hortense’s lover who challenges him to a duel. Result: even the cook starts saying “I don’t give a damn!” in the hope of getting a raise.
