Un giovane frettoloso

Dardard, a young Bordeaux man in a hurry, turns up at two o’clock in the morning at the home of glove-maker Pontbichet to ask for the hand of the daughter he saw that same evening at the theatre.
Initially reluctant, Pontbichet gradually allows himself to be won over by the ingenuity of the intruder – who, when he is thrown out of the door, comes back in through the window – and ends up preferring him to Colardeau, his daughter’s naive suitor. Perhaps, however, the girl Dardard has seen at the theatre is not exactly what he expected.
An exhilarating one-act play by Labiche in which just three characters hold up a text that holds many amusing surprises.
