Count Gerardo and his two sons, Mariano and Federico, are each about to marry a different woman, or so they think. In reality, the aforementioned woman’s name is Isabel and she has made a mess of things: she has fallen in love with all three of them, taking a radically different attitude with each of them and thus leading them to believe she is the woman of their dreams.
Arriving at the count’s house for the upcoming wedding, the young woman confesses the truth and expresses her convictions about love, but her presence ends up wreaking havoc on the entire family, even involving the servants who are called upon to manage a paradoxical situation.
A hilarious comedy by Enrique Jardiel Poncela where true and deep feelings are replaced by the often mistaken idea that everyone has of the other, and by the illusion of happiness that one thinks resides in being exactly the way the other wants us to be.
