Un giorno ancora
One-act play by Joseph Conrad
In a small seaport, young Bessie struggles with two men who are making life difficult for her: her blind father, who exploits her and prevents her from having a social life, and Captain Hagberd, their neighbour and the owner of the cottage where they live, who is obsessed with his son who disappeared years ago and cannot accept that the young man may never return.
When the Captain’s son actually shows up on the doorstep, Bessie is forced to confront the illusion of a better future and the harsh reality of a present made up of men who subject women to their whims.
