L’ufficio postale
One-act play by Rabindranath Tagore translated into Italian
Little Amal is ill and cannot leave the house. From his window, he befriends perfect strangers and, although a prisoner in his own home, demonstrates, with great creativity, that when you are deprived of physical freedom, you can find it in mental freedom.
The most famous play by the Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore, Nobel Prize winner for literature in 1913, in which he talks about freedom, life and faith.
In the French version by André Gide, the text was read on the radio before Paris was occupied by the Germans.
On some occasions it has also been performed by children
